There are five different collections to work on, with each containing four collectibles. When you have one of every collectible in a collection you can redeem the prize for that collection. By doing so the mastery meter, much like with recipes, moves up, and when you top up to the end of a level there's a gem reward.
So how do we get hold of all the collectibles? Some are much easier to discover than others, so let's go through each of the collections in turn, using information that has previously been published on the TeamLava Blog.
Floral Bouquet

We start with the most tricky of the lot. The Floral Bouquet consists of four flowers, each of which can pop up from the purchasing of wall decorations and wallpapers. These seem to be the least common collecibles to drop, and in my experience the Rose is the most rare. It doesn't help that we don't tend to buy that many wall items in general, but if you go to town on these two categories your chances of capturing some of them are at least enhanced.
Cooking Tools

And on the subject of Golden Utensils, how irritating! You only really need one or two of these, so I've always sold the rest that I obtain, making 1,500 coins for each one. That's a nice financial boost since tipping is free, but it would be even nicer if the reward was 10,000 coins each time!
Chef Implements

The remaining three collections are put together by cooking recipes. The Chef Implements is another set you can expect to do well with, as the items can drop from the cooking of any type of dish. This isn't restricted to any point in the process - it could come when making the preparation taps or when the serving tap is carried out. As the above image shows, the Chef Hat and Oven Mitt are very common while the Apron isn't too difficult to get hold of. It's the Chef Jacket which is likely to be your final component in the collection.
This time it's a cash prize when you hit redeem. Not only is there 15,000 coins available but also a 750 XP stash, which is pretty valuable if you're looking to rise through the levels.
Baking Goodness

The Baking Goodness collection is more restricted. To have a shot at picking up any of the collectibles you need to make only recipes which are listed under Breakfast or Dessert. There are obviously many fewer foods in each of these brackets than under Lunch and Dinner, so depending on your strategy when it comes to cooking progress might be slow. Here there are two of the collectibles which drop more rarely, those being the Baking Sheet and the Knife. The latter of these has proven the most problematic in my experience, but you should be able to complete a few of this collection over time.
Again there's a financial reward here, a slightly lower return of 10,000 coins but larger gain of 1,000 XP. As far as I know this is the only way to earn this much XP from one transaction. It is a massive prize really when you consider that it is equivalent to cooking 167 batches of French Toast!
Yummy Ingredients

Last but not least is the Yummy Ingredients collection. This one is the opposite of the last collection, with the Lunch and Dinner recipes providing the drops. The Sugar is the major obstacle this time, although the Butter appears rather infrequently too.
We're back to the reward being an item, with the Diner Table on offer here. Much like the Golden Utensils, this is a nice decoration to be given the first couple of times, but after that it gets tiresome. Consequently I sell the duplicates I get every time the collection is completed, bagging 200 coins for each sale. It does have it's uses though - the Diner Table has become a staple of my Retro Diner theme whenever it gets an airing.
So there you have it. A little observation - notice that the only major action that doesn't seem to have any chance of yielding a collectible is the purchase of floor tiles. How convenient is that considering that they are the one item you're most likely to buy in bulk! But where would we be without the challenge?!
Quick comment on the Floral Bouquet.
ReplyDeleteFor those who have the money and the time, you can get floral bouquets by emptying your walls and purchasing the cheap 100 coin black clocks, and then selling them back. Rinse, repeat.
I redecorate often enough that I had several, but found myself needing one more for a symmetrical design. Using this method I completed the collection pretty quickly. I think I now have 10 or 12 of these, but usually only bring them all out near Valentine's Day!
This is something I've actually done on occasion to try and make some more flowers drop, but I find it too laborious to repeat endlessly. I just haven't got the patience!
DeleteGood on you though - you must have more of the Floral Bouquets than just about anyone! :)
I always wondered who would need so many dang golden utentsils!? I never thought to sell them back. Thanks!
