Game update: 29/06/17

Just as we were on the brink of the first month in Restaurant Story history to provide us with only one update, an in-game pop up introduced a special event with items re-released and on sale.

Notification for summer themed sale

It has to be said that we've been needing this sale. It may not bring any new content or themes, but it does at least give us something to discuss, and that's not been all that common recently. The water park themed goals were the only update in June up until this point, and the release prior to that was the theatre themed quest which was now five-and-a-half weeks ago.

Suggestions Box (Jun 2017)

Every month I list five things I'd like to see added, altered or abolished from the game. Because even though my long time of playing Restaurant Story clearly shows I love it, that doesn't mean it's perfect. Some of the ideas I'll air will be significant game changers while others will be low-key and irrelevant in the eyes of many of you readers.

You can share your own suggestions too via the comments. If I like them, I may even include them in the next instalment!

In no particular order, here are this month's entries...

Water park goals content report

Many players will have by now dried off after diving into the water park themed goals released alongside last week's update. I'm actually not one of them, but soon will be as I make my way through the final step. So it's about time I delivered some thoughts on the various content accessed via the goals.

The first item unlocked in the quest is the Bite Sized Oven. A fairly dull looking appliance, this oven is one of the few which falls into the realistic category. There's no quirky colour scheme at play here - it's just a standard contraption. To build it you need 9 Springs, 9 Pieces of Foil and 9 Lifeguard Whistles, with the last of these a new part.

Water park goals (in full)

Please note that this set of goals expired on Tuesday 27th June 2017.

Trunks and goggles ready? They better be because the latest update gives us the chance to bring the water park to our restaurants! And with it is a new set of goals which is the only way to get hold of three floor decorations, two appliances and six recipes.

There are 15 days to complete this particular quest, which means that Tuesday 27th June is the expected cut-off date. If you don't finish the goals by then you stand to miss out on exclusive content.

Here is the (incomplete) list of steps:

Game update: 13/06/17

We've waited exactly three weeks for it, but at last there is another update in Restaurant Story, and with it you are sure to get wet...

Introduction to water park themed goals

It is undoubtedly a summer theme, but despite there having been countless examples of such updates in years gone by, the sub-theme here is rather novel. A water park theme has lots of scope, especially in a goals update, which makes me excited to see what the game's developers have in store for us.

And the best way to find out is to get straight to the list of additions:

RS2 News (Jun 2017)

The tumbleweed has been passing through in Restaurant Story over the past couple of weeks, with no update since the theatre themed goals were released. Luckily the sequel title, Restaurant Story 2, has done its best to keep us occupied, with two cruise events sandwiched by the return of Lani and her tasks.

The first of those cruises was the Madder Tea Party cruise event, which was a rehash of the Mad Tea Party themed cruise from May 2016.

Theater goals content report

It's now been 11 days since a theatre themed update was released in Restaurant Story, headlined by a set of goals. If you haven't yet completed the quest then time is of the essence, with only a few days remaining to progress through all the steps. You can find comprehensive details of all the various tasks in my dedicated goals post here.

Perhaps the biggest talking point with this update was the inclusion of a number of items which have been available in Bakery Story for some time. Three of the floor decorations - the Movie Screen, Movie Stars and Velvet Rope - are all straight out of the sister game, while the Marquee Oven is of the same design as Bakery Story's Movie Night Oven.
