Easter is fast approaching and Restaurant Story is marking this most cheery of events with a set of goals.

Introduction to Easter 2018 goals

It's the first time Easter has been covered in the game with new content since 2014, and well and truly ushers in the spring! Here's a full list of everything added:

We'll get to the padlocked stuff in a later goals content report - for now let's focus on the items which can be purchased from the off, starting with the Bunny Streamer. It's another wall decoration! The Celtic Knotwork was introduced last week and was the first new wall piece for around seven months. Now we have another!

And the Bunny Streamer is a typical example of why I love this time of year. It features bunny cutouts of peaceful pastel colours hanging on string. There's nothing complicated about it and yet it does the business in conveying the freshness that comes with the spring.

In truth that happy tone is present throughout the update. You've got the Spring Time wallpaper which puts a daisy front and centre (admittedly it is just a tad oversized!) and the Spring Greens floor tile which provides another grassy option for pulling our diners into the new season.

Meanwhile the furniture added ticks the arts and crafts box. The Shell Table sees that familiar circular glass top, but I do like the jagged half egg it is perched on. However the accompanying Shell Chair doesn't quite do it for me - the colours used for the patterns are lost in the white-cream overall colour, although that may be a consequence of my partial colour blindness!

Then there's the Egg Hunt Counter which is probably the most predictable themed counter I've ever seen. And I really don't mind. The painted Easter eggs nestled in the spring grass are far from an original concept, but it's well executed and given the relative lack of Easter related decor added down the years I've no issue with a truly Easter counter here.

So this looks like shaping up to be a very successful update! I've had such a busy couple of weeks that when this lot was first released I didn't really have time to pause and peruse what was new properly, but now that I have I'm feeling really positive about it. Just need the fresh weather being portrayed in the game to be reflected in the real world now - where I am it was snowing today, disgraceful!
