Game update: 26/10/17

I closed out my post on Wednesday's update by encouraging Storm8 to give us a second sale of Halloween items which includes some of the more 'vintage decorations'. Well, yesterday evening my encouragement paid off...

Notification for second Halloween 2017 sale

A pop-up confirmed that further content had been added to the ongoing sale, which is something of an understatement. There are 31 more items have joined the bonanza which means a total of 73 market entries are currently enjoying the orange frame treatment.

Let's not mess around - the Haunted House is included. This is one of the decorations I singled out when describing 'vintage' content, and it's great to see it make a return. It's pretty much tradition that it puts in a showing as a limited time offer in some context, and now anyone who hasn't already got it has an opportunity to join the club.

Meanwhile Pixiegamer's dreams have come true and prayers have been answered as the Leaf Pile returns for the first time. Originally a prize in the 2013 Thanksgiving goals, we've had to wait four years for the leaf loving girl to finally make a comeback. Pixiegamer has campaigned annually for her return so to finally have her back is really exciting. I can report that there are an army of Leaf Piles at Pixie's restaurant at this very moment!

The Fallen Tree will undoubtedly be a welcome inclusion too given how useful it can be for constructing a wild forested area, while the Autumn Divider always rates favourably with me given that it is only 1,100 coins a time.

Of course both of these (and the Leaf Pile) are autumn themed items rather than Halloween ones, and the same can be said for the majority of the stuff in this sale. Autumn is perhaps the most well executed theme of all in Restaurant Story down the years, and here we get a taste of the goodies that have inspired some beautiful diner designs in the past.

Among the many options are two boxes, with the Autumn Gift Box and Acorn both available at half price for the duration of the sale. You can get a glimpse of what lies inside each of these using my Crate Catalogue. It's worth noting that the Autumn Gift Box (which is a candidate for the greatest crate the game has ever seen in my view) is not normally available so be sure to snap it up whilst you still can!

This sale has capped a really strong October for Restaurant Story. Two goal sets and two sales have made those barren weeks in-between quests throughout most of 2017 feel like another life. With Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year and Valentine's Day all upcoming we could be in for a rich few months!
