Notification for airplane update |
Tables:
- Engine Table - 78,400 coins
- Flight Chair - 18,500 coins
- Airplane Assemblage - 11 gems
- Airplane Couch - 19 gems
- Airplane Divider - 8,000 coins
- Aviation - 26,700 coins
- Airplane - 1 gem
- Engine Counter - 42,000 coins
There are also two new recipes, which I'll discuss in a moment. But first a thought on the other new stuff.
The Engine Table is just 100 coins short of the record for a table which was set by the Pirate Table last week. Not a good start. The Flight Chair is not a negative recordbreaker, but is still expensive at 18,500 coins each. At least both the table and chair are available for coins.
The Airplane Couch is a decent item - it actually looks like something that would be offered for a limited time, so it's good to see it as a permanent piece available for 19 gems. Meanwhile the Airplane Divider may inspire some players to try and recreate an airplane in their restaurant. I'll be on the lookout for any efforts!
Another expensive new item is the Engine Counter, but at least it's open-ended in the sense that it could fit outside an airplane theme - you could utilise it for any theme involving vehicles.
As I mentioned earlier, there are two new recipes to cook. Both are found on the Basic Stove:

I have to say that these two dishes look much tastier than any meal I've ever had on a flight!
Let's start with the Airline Lunch. It is a rare 7 hour recipe, although it does follow the School Lunch which was released earlier this month and is also a 7 hour dish. And it outperforms it hands down. That's not saying much though as the School Lunch was a poor recipe.
However the Airline Lunch is a strong recipe when we throw it in with the 6 and 8 hour recipes as well. It offers a little less XP and profit than the Escargot with Lamb (Basic Grill) but does do better than it when you take the XP and profit per hour into account.
Interestingly, this new recipe actually compares quite equally with one of the other five 7 hour dishes that are currently available. The Flower Salad (Basic Stove) offers a tad more XP but a little less profit for your time. So it depends on what you want out of your cooking really.
As for the Airline Dinner? It's a big winner. The Stuffed Lamb (Basic Oven) is the only dish which gives more XP among 10 hour recipes with a dazzling 160 XP, but the Airline Dinner offers double the portions and hence double the profit - that's 5,310 coins against the Stuffed Lamb's mediocre 2,660 coins.
So two quality recipes, along with a theme which I suspect will only feature for the one week. Based off the pattern in recent months, next week we'll probably see another new theme which will last for three or four weeks, starting with a set of goals.
While on the subject of goals, please note that the Under the Sea goals expire on Tuesday, so if you haven't finished them yet, get going!
