Back in July I added a new section detailing the weekly updates since the blog was launched.
Well now I'm pleased to announce that the update archive has been updated to include weeky updates from well before the Restaurant Story Adventures Blog was launched.
The archive now stretches way back to March 2011, around six months after the game was first introduced.
It has taken a lot of work to build up the spreadsheet, but it has been fascinating to carry out the research into Restaurant Story's past and observe how the game has developed over time. Here are a few examples of things which are different now to how they were in the past...
Originally there was no gem awarded for mastering recipes at the 4th level. Instead players were given 10,000 coins and 200 XP for their efforts. A gem was still available for mastery at level 2, but the addition of a gem reward for fully mastering dishes has greatly increased the number of gems which can be obtained without purchases.
Early updates didn't tend to contain much new content. Until Christmas 2011, most weeks there were only two or three new items, and sometimes these were all for gems. Occasionally there were no new items at all, with only a couple of recipes added. This really makes me appreciate the range of items we get in the weekly update these days!
Meanwhile, limited time offers were much more prevalent in the earlier days. At present, we tend to get a LTO every few weeks whereas back in the day there would be a limited item every single update. And going back to 2011, there was a period where LTOs were not available for purchase even with gems - instead you had to buy a gem pack with real money to get the limited item.
Those who are newer to the game may not appreciate how generous TeamLava are, but having looked back on the weekly update's history, it is clear to me that they have certainly toned down the emphasis on gems and consequently gem purchases. This is something that players like myself who aren't keen on spending real money on the game should really be thankful for.
Anyway, enjoy browsing the expanded update archive - it can be accessed by clicking 'Update Archive' at the top of this page, or simply by clicking here.
