Let me take you back to 3rd January 2013...
A pop-up appears to every player on every TeamLava game, and it informs that all holiday content from 2012 will be removed on the 7th. Chaos ensues as players frantically try to decide what is and what isn't 'holiday content', before invading Design mode to buy up items expected to go and desperately trying to master seasonal recipes.
It was a bit of a shambles in all honesty. Only four days notice of a whole raft of unnamed items and dishes being removed with no promise of any returning at any time in the future. So as that time approaches again, here's a guide as to what you should do.
The definition of 'holiday content' is a dodgy one - Valentine's Day, Halloween and Christmas clearly all fall into this bracket, but what about Summer, Autumn, Carnival and Cruise themed items? So for the sake of taking no chances I'm going to class anything added this year as at risk.
Every week I'm posting a list of items released in 2013 for a certain category, comprising of the nine tabs of Design mode and the recipes. Time to traipse through the floor tiles...

(*) These floor tiles were a 2011 or 2012 removal, but have been re-added in 2013. They are expected to be removed again this year. The Christmas floor tile is set to be removed shortly.
(**) These floor tiles are 'in season' so may be removed in the near future in a removal of the same format as the Halloween content removal.
The floor tiles are certainly among the smaller categories of items when it comes to the shear number of removal candidates. That's a welcome relief to my sore fingers!
In total 30 floor tiles have been introduced in 2013. Any of them could be pulled at the turn of the year, so get buying now!
Also, there are 3 floor tiles which were released for Halloween, and thus were removed as part of the Halloween content removal. Consequently, I've not included them here. Another (the Haunted Floorboards) was ditched on Tuesday 26th November 2013.
Now for a little tip: iOS users only need to buy one of a floor tile to be sure of being able to cover their floor with it in the future, even after it has been removed. This is because after placing one of a floor tile, you get the option to 'buy again' regardless of whether or not the wallpaper has been removed. Unfortunately this trick doesn't work for Android - thanks to Alex for confirming this!

Doesn't work for android: what you bought what you have. :-(
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for telling me that Alex. I've modified the tip accordingly.
DeleteDo you know if the same applies to wallpapers? :)
It's the same (also for the appliance) :(
DeleteCheers.
DeleteOn iOS it's definitely only wallpapers and floor tiles which can be added to after removal.
A real shame that Android players miss out on what I assume is an unintentional bug. :)
I got so many points here that are why I love reading your post. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteDiscount Floor Tiles
If you replace a floor tile that has been removed, does it disappear? Can you find it in the menu, despite its previous removal?
ReplyDelete(Not sure if my other comment went through)
It will disappear from the market once you've placed all the ones you own, although if playing on iOS you can opt to 'buy again' when placing the tile so can still purchase further tiles. :)
