The iOS version of the sequel game was first pushed out in March 2014, but only in limited territories. It was another nine months before the testing procedure was completed and RS2 hit the App Store globally. Ever since the question of when Android players would also be able to play the game has gone unanswered, until now.
There were reports around a month ago of an Android version being available in selected countries, and it is now accessible worldwide, including in the US and UK. You can find the game on Google Play (UK version) here.
As an iOS player I can't comment on the quality of the game on Android, but I would expect it to operate very similarly to the iOS edition. Of course there are one or two differences between the platforms when it comes to the original game, so I think it's to be expected that there will a small number of disparities in RS2 too.
The only difference I've gleaned from the Google Play screenshots comes in the Garden, where there appear to be chillies growing.

That's not an ingredient currently on the go in the iOS version, although it could be that this is merely a sneak peek of something which is on the way for both platforms.
So there you have it. The journey from discovering the existence of RS2 to it's release across both platforms worldwide has been a long one, but at last everyone can now experience the sequel game for themselves. Enjoy Androiders!
I experienced restaurant story 2 but won't enjoyed it at all.
