Valentine's Day at The Garlic Tree

Valentine's Day is this coming Wednesday, so hopefully you've got something romantic lined up for your loved one. If not you could always swing by my restaurant, The Garlic Tree, where there's that glorious hint of love in the air.

When you first arrive there's an opportunity to take a Gondola Ride.

Gondola lake at The Garlic Tree

Upon an intimate lake, you'll be able to relax and unwind with your other half while the gondolier steers around Lotus Flowers and Turtle Stacks. There are also Flamingos in situ, with the Sea Trainer ensuring that they get their feed. The Kissing Swans is a fitting accompaniment to the gondola lake, with two swans sharing an affectionate moment.

Back on dry land, and happiness is the order of the day. The ground is covered in Spring Meadows which indicate that those drawn out nights are fading, and many a fun activity is being undertaken. You've got some Picnic Painting and a Clown with his Cotton Candy Machine. Then there's a pair riding their Tandem Bike and the Life Coach who is cooling off after a peaceful run.

Once you get into my diner, I advise taking a seat in the main section which has had a Valentine's makeover.

Rose petals have been falling like confetti around the place - some have ended up sprinkled over the Romantic Dinner Tables, others are floating innocently in the Romantic Pond. This pond forms the centrepiece of my restaurant, with Marble Pillars and Rose Drape Counters marking it out as a key landmark.

High quality entertainment has been booked in for the occasion, with the String Quartet veterans of the Garlic Tree. They've got the Flamenco Dancers in tow, and they will lead the way as everyone enjoys a dance with their dish. On the other side of the area is the Grand Piano where the Crooner is clearing his throat. There'll be ballad after ballad from him, ensuring that you are stimulated throughout your dining experience.

If you're after something a little more secluded then how about my special room for two?

Meal for two at The Garlic Tree

The Fondue Couple are currently tucking into a sharing platter here which was delivered directly from the world famous kitchen by the Valentine Robot. Although, where is that mischievous robot? Not to worry, they've got plenty of Chilled Drink on hand and a Cheese Cart for after. But it's the setting that makes this such a popular spot for visitors - the Modern Romance wallpaper gives an intimate feel which is further heightened by the Candle Holders.

Once the meal is done with you can retire to the lounge area, and in particular the Pink Couch. The Table of Romance and Date Night Candles give some additional cosiness, and couples can listen to something relaxing on Gran's Phonograph whilst looking out over the Cityscape. And there's the Valentine Robot offering some heart-shaped pancakes to the Love Pug. How touching!

For those who are not quite so deep into a relationship an alternative option may be to purchase some tickets for the cinema.

Cinema at The Garlic Tree

Now showing, this small but top of the range cinema is a fine place to bring your date this Valentine's. Looks like the Hip Techie and Cowboy Greeter agree, and are going to stuff themselves silly from Action Chef Lee's Boardwalk Dog Stand. The Jock and Bella Beekeeper are also in the queue, although the Jock's expression strongly suggests that he's not impressed that it is a romance showing on the Movie Screen tonight!

Past the Ticket Booth we go, and unsurprisingly the Train Conductor will check your ticket (he's a stickler for rules and regulations!) The Patio Drink Cart offers refreshments, and the Bagel Gal keeps everyone topped up with snacks under the leadership of Hanbok Phoebe.

The tour is almost complete, but there is one last area to be visited... Paris!

Paris at The Garlic Tree

It is the City of Love after all, so there can be no better way to mark Valentine's Day than with a Parisian scene. The Travel Couple are only just arriving and are already met with the Rose Seller and her Giant Rose Basket. This is undoubtedly the place to be for Valentine's.

In the corner is a Royal Masterpiece in the making with the artist's cat behaving very well as it is immortalised on canvas. Meanwhile the Parisian Waitress and Paletero are in charge of the Belle Tables and Chairs where you can get a tasty sweet treat whilst overlooking one of the world's most famous structures.

I am of course referring to the Eiffel Tower which stands tall and elegant above all else. And who should be tucking into a Spring Picnic under it but the Playful Parasol and Lake Fisher! Mr Fisher has taken the love of his life all the way to Paris, along with his Lake Dog and her Frisbee Dog. He's even hired my Violinist to make the moment as perfect as it could possibly be.

What moment am I speaking of? Oh wait... a ring! A bent knee! A proposal! A matter of seconds which have changed the lives of this quartet - Miss Parasol and Mr Fisher are getting married! It's a joyous moment for all concerned, not least of all me. I've watched these two share so many memories since they first set eyes on one another from opposite sides of a lake a year ago.

And therefore it makes sense that the wedding should take place at The Garlic Tree! The date is set - vows will be exchanged on Saturday 21st April and you are all invited! Over the next few weeks I shall recap just what this power couple have been up to over the past 12 months as we build up to the Restaurant Story event of 2018!
