Notification for Tea party update |
The theme is a tea party, and there's plenty of new content all for coins which can be attained by completing the goal set. Here's a full list of the stuff added this week:
Tables:
- Lace Table - 9,000 coins
Chairs:
- Lace Chair - locked by goal
- Tea Cup Garland - 5,500 coins
- Tea Time Sign - 7,900 coins
- Tea Hat Stand - 12,500 coins
- Tea Party - locked by goal
- Tea Tiles - 8,400 coins
- Tea Cup Tile - 1,100 coins
- Lace Oven - 11,500 coins
- Tea Dispenser - locked by goal
- Lace Counter - locked by goal
I'm pleased with this update. Some have said it would suit Bakery Story better - and I agree - but that doesn't mean it doesn't fit in Restaurant Story. As well as a breakfast, lunch and dinner service, my restaurant is now also doing afternoon tea!
What with the goals, there's not a single gem item in sight, but don't go too crazy spending your coins because you're going to need to buy some of the stuff to complete the goals anyway.
My goal content report will be released once I finish the goals and will analyse the goal prizes in more detail, but at a glance this looks to be a nice update. The Lace Table, Lace Chair and Lace Counter all look to be similar in style, meaning they can be grouped together naturally. I think there's scope for a traditional section with these pieces - I'm thinking specifically of an old-fashioned English tearoom.
Update: The goal content report is now out, and can be found here.
Just like in the Spring goals, the first of the new appliances - the Lace Oven - is readily available to buy in the market without the need to unlock it in the first goal, although the second and third recipes aboard it are locked until you complete certain goals. There's no mystical Melon Seeds necessary for its construction, but you will need Sturdy Wood!
Introduction to Tea party goals |
And since the Tea Hat Stand is also unlocked it means there are just four items to gain access to in the goals. I'm surprised the hat stand isn't a goal prize as it looks fantastic. It's a huge improvement on the drab Coat Rack which has been available since forever!
And the two wall decorations are nice too. The Tea Time Sign isn't too small or expensive, while the Tea Cup Garland is cheerful and fits well into a kitchen section. In particular, the brown of the beam the strings are attached to will match by dark kitchen flooring perfectly.
In contrast I think both the Tea Tiles wallpaper and Tea Cup Tile for the floor are a bit garish. But there are plenty of sophisticated alternatives that can be considered for combining with the lace furniture.
I'll give more feedback on the likely final goal prize, the Tea Party, in the aforementioned goal content report, but from the tiny image in the market it looks to be a lovely outdoor gathering for some afternoon tea. It's a decoration which will be doing straight into my garden area!
For all the details on the goals (as I progress through them myself!) head on over to the goal post.
