With the
Chinese New Year update came a new set of goals.
There are six new items which can be unlocked by completing the goals, so it's well worth a peek. Plus two of those items are appliances, meaning that there are recipes to be unlocked too.
You have 34 days to finish the goals, so they'll expire on Monday 10th February. To gain access to the locked content, you must achieve the goals by this deadline.
Here is the complete list of goal steps:
Step 1: Chinese New Year!
- Buy 8 Fireworks Celebration Wallpaper ... any wallpaper is acceptable.
- Buy 16 Good Fortune Floor Tiles ... these cost 750 coins each.

By making those purchases, you unlock the
Chinese Dessert Oven.

The goals now split into two.
Step 2 continues the main strand while
Sidestep A needs to be completed to continue progression along the main strand.
Step 2: The Color Of Luck
- Buy 4 Chinese Lanterns ... these cost 6,000 coins each.
- Have 5 Chinese Tables ... these are locked until you complete Sidestep A and cost 7,500 coins each.

After buying the necessary items, the
Chinese Archway is unlocked.

This 3x1 floor decoration forms part of
Sidestep C.
Step 3: Tasty Turnip
- Have 2 Dim Sum Stoves ... these are locked until you complete Sidestep D where one is given free. They cost 12,900 coins each and require 7 Motors, 7 Wiring and 7 Red Gears to build. Find the appliance
towards
the end of the Appliances tab.
- Prepare 20 Turnip Puddings ... these are found on the Dim Sum Stove and take 3 hours to prepare.
- Serve 20 Turnip Puddings

Preparing those Turnip Puddings unlocks access to the next recipe on the Dim Sum Stove, the
Chinese Dumplings.

You'll need to cook lots of these in
Step 4.
Step 4: Dangerous Dumplings
- Prepare 25 Chinese Dumplings ... these are found on the Dim Sum Stove and take 6 hours to prepare.
- Serve 25 Chinese Dumplings
- Ask 8 Neighbours for Long Noodles ... tap 'Ask' and send requests for these to neighbours.

For dumping the dumplings on your counters the last new recipe is unlocked, namely the
Long Life Noodles.

The noodles form the basis of the final step -
Step 5.
Step 5: Oodles Of Noodles
- Prepare 30 Long Life Noodles ... these are found on the Dim Sum Stove and take 12 hours to prepare.

This is the concluding goal, and results in the unlocking of the
Dragon Dance, with one given free.

This item can be found towards the end of the Floor Decorations tab. It's 3x3 in size so make some space before you place it! Further purchases cost 70,000 coins.
Sidestep A: The Master Returns
Available after completing Step 1
- Have 1 Chinese Dessert Oven ... these cost 11,000 coins each and require 5 Gears and 5 Yellow Steel to build. Find the appliance
towards
the end of the Appliances tab.
- Serve 8 Chinese Sticky Cake ... these are found on the Chinese Dessert Oven and take 1 hour to prepare.

Once those cakes are on counters, the
Chinese table is unlocked.

Sidestep B: The Red Envelope
Available after completing Step 2
- Visit 10 Community Members
- Buy 2 Chinese Wall Fans .. these cost 7,200 coins each.

Tanggu Drum counter is unlocked.

The purchase of three of these counters is necessary to complete
Sidestep D.
Sidestep C: A Time For Tradition
Available after completing Sidestep A
- Serve 10 Almond Cookies ... these are found on the Chinese Dessert Oven and take 4 hours to prepare.
- Have 5 Chinese Chairs ... these cost 4,200 coins each.
- Buy 1 Chinese Archway ... this is locked until you complete Step 2 and costs 25,000 coins. Find it towards the end of the Floor Decorations tab.

- Serve 12 Egg Custard Tarts ... these are found on the Chinese Dessert Oven and take 8 hours to prepare.
- Have 3 Tanggu Drum Counters ... these are locked until you complete Sidestep B and cost 5,900 coins each.

One of these is given to you free, already built. It is used from
Step 3.
This seems as good a place to post this as any: I really like that both the appliances out of these goals have 4 sides. I actually can't think of any new, constructed appliances that have 4 sides (like the classic appliances and the easy versions of them do) but when you want a realistic "kitchen" so that your cooks can access the fronts of the appliances, it's nice to be able to have a back side, too, rather than having the oven dial point out into space! This is such a small touch, but one I'd love to see more of.

Huhu this is so not fairrr! I only started playing this game in 2016. I cant get this chinese set anymoree! If only they would re-release this goal! Buhuhuhu
