Introduction to Beach goals

For all the details on those click here.

Personally I'm delighted with this theme. I may be a big football fan, but I feared a cheesy soccer update ahead of the tournament's kick-off next week. Instead we get some beach related things which add to a wealth of items we already have. I've housed a beach area before, and now plan to redecorate my entire outdoor section as a purely coastal site.

As usual I'll post a goal content report at some stage once I get hold of the unlockables, but here are some thoughts on the rest...

My favourite addition is actually the Sandy Shore flooring. Even up close this tile has a great sandy texture to it. If I was being picky (and I am!) then I'd say I could do without the shells - some plain sand for coins has been on my wishlist for all of time. The three Zen Sand tiles are all we've had before, and cost gems. But I'll take this!

The Weathered Wood wallpaper is also a winner. It's got a rugged finish which is stylish, and I'm sure will look great in certain themes, although I'm not sure it's a good fit for the seaside. I guess it will work for the interior of the boathouse...

The two wall decorations also get a thumbs up from me. The Nautical Net is nailed to the wall and has several shells and sea creatures attached. I like the way that the gamemakers haven't tried to make it look too neat. It's got the same rugged look as the Weathered Wood - the two together are a match made in heaven. Then there's the Porthole. This one looks good too, but there's a glaring problem. The window is depicting the sea on the outside, but I can assure you that Garlic Tree Avenue is still what is truly on the other side of the wall, at least from my perspective.

The only other decoration freely available to buy is the Pier Stool. It's effectively a cracked tree stump with a thick rope wrapped twice around it and a starfish slapped on the front. I've not done a great job of bigging it up, but it is a fine enough piece, and I may work it into my restaurant, just not as a chair...

As has been the case recently, the first goal appliance is already available in the market without a padlock stamped on it. The Coconut Fountain is a typical goal price at 12,000 coins. Indeed, it's pleasing to see decent prices whenever the goals come out what with the escalating rates for items in other updates due to the high level of release. Incidently, this update is unleashed at level 12.

Taking a trip down memory lane, this time last year we got the Cruise goals, which were much harder than the norm, but at least made things interesting. Players who did those goals may find they can combine content from then along with the new stuff, plus the older beach themes too.

All in all I'm very pleased with this week's offering and hope to see more seaside updates in the coming weeks!
