The assessment of the recipe ratings continue with the 5 hour dishes this week.
The 5 hour recipes form the smallest pool of contenders we've analysed so far, with 21 dishes up for evaluation. Three of these have been completely removed with another on an appliance no longer purchasable. There are also three 5 hour efforts on goal appliances.

This time I'm starting with the XP gain factor. There's a clear leader in this market, with the Chicken Parm Pie (Basic Oven) giving 111 XP for each batch.

---|---|---|---|---|---|
Profit | XP gain | Portions | Profit per plate | Availability | Rating |
6 | 10 | 6 | 10 | 4 | 7.5 |
This recipe really is the XP king, as it thumps the opposition. The closest rival is the Pretzel Twists (Basic Oven) with 101 XP before another sizeable gap down to the Frontier Breakfast (Cowboy Stove) with 91 XP. Furthermore, on a per hour basis the only way to earn more XP is to go down to a shorter recipe. The 5 hour dishes are the first ones which are generally safe to cook overnight without risk of spoiling, so this pie could be a good call if XP is your game.
Unfortunately the profit and portion numbers are not so spectacular for the pie, although they are still decent enough, meaning we've got an early overall rating benchmark of 7.5. However the aforementioned Pretzel Twists quickly eclipse the pie:

Profit | XP gain | Portions | Profit per plate | Availability | Rating |
7 | 9 | 7 | 10 | 4 | 7.8 |
The twists are still good for XP, have the fifth best profit, and have the sixth best portions value. This is enough to send it top of the pile... for now!
We've still to look at the recipes which ace profit and portions. Firstly let me draw attention to the Coffee (Yellow Coffee Maker):

---|---|---|---|---|---|
Profit | XP gain | Portions | Profit per plate | Availability | Rating |
10 | 2 | 10 | 10 | 6 | 7.4 |
It's a beauty! The Coffee is the top dish for both profit and portions and thus is a formidable recipe. Being unlocked at level 42 is also a benefit - it isn't going to be out of reach for newer players for long. The downside is the XP gain which is among the poorest of the 5 hour recipes. Thus the Coffee falls short of the Pretzel Twists overall.
There is one more dish which is mightily strong for profit and portions - the Minestrone Soup (Basic Stove):

---|---|---|---|---|---|
Profit | XP gain | Portions | Profit per plate | Availability | Rating |
10 | 6 | 10 | 10 | 3 | 8.5 |
Since it is only just behind the Coffee on both profit and portions and well ahead of everything else, the soup still scores tens on these factors. The fourth best XP among 5 hour dishes means the overall rating is significantly higher than not only the Coffee, but also the Pretzel Twists. I think we may have a winner!
This time the weak point is the availability, with the soup not unlocked until level 70. However this is a much smaller consideration than XP since everyone can gain access to it eventually, whereas the poor XP gain of the coffee will never change.
So thanks to it's consistently competitive stats, the latest addition to the Recipe Hall of Fame is the Minestrone Soup.
