Game update: 25/09/13

There's a crispness in the air as the winter draws ever closer.

Notification for latest Autumn update

That's right. This week we've got further Autumn content to lavish over our restaurants. Here's a full list of the new items:

Tables:
  • Autumn Table - 80,000 coins
Chairs:
  • Autumn Chair - 2 gems
Wall decorations:
  • Jams and Jellies - 12 gems
Floor decorations:
  • Cider Bar - 38 gems (LTO)
  • Autumn Cookies - 49,500 coins
Wallpapers:
  • Fall Ivy - 1 gem
Floor tiles:
  • Fall Foliage - 6,000 coins
Counters:
  • Fall Counter - 43,000 coins

There's also a new recipe on the Basic Stove.

But starting with the stuff listed above, I really like this update. It's not packed with content, but what we have got is a bunch of great items with the hearty colours that I'd associate with this time of year.

The price of the Autumn Table and Fall Counter is staggering though. The dearest table record set by the Leaf Table last week is already eclipsed, and the counter is among the most expensive available. However they both look beautiful in my opinion, and I'd happily part with lots of coins for them.

The Fall Foliage wallpaper is also really nice even if it costs gems, and goes perfectly with the Autumn Floor released last week.

 18/09/13 First Autumn update

The Autumn Cookies is an excellent piece for a reasonable price. What with the tiny leaves and berries scattered over the table it is very detailed and well worth considering.

Finally, there's also a limited time offer to have a think about.

Cider Bar limited time offer

The Cider Bar is one of the more expensive LTOs at 38 gems, but again it looks great. I'm not usually a cider drinker but I'd be straight over anyhow for a pint!

And any excuse will do - how about using that cider to wash down a caramel apple?

New recipe for Basic Stove

You'll find Caramel Apples at the start of the recipe list on the Basic Stove.

The Candy Apples has now been moved - it is positioned between Stuffed Mushrooms and Minestrone Soup.

It's XP rating lines up with the few other 9 hour dishes, and is probably average when we consider it relative to the more common 8 and 10 hour recipes. The 1,725 portions is very high. The only food that significantly tops it is Gravlax (Swedish Stove) with 2,175 portions, although it is a 10 hour recipe. Finally the profit is tidy too - no 8 or 9 hour dish offers more, while only three 10 hour recipes yield more coins. Those are Airline Dinner (Basic Stove), Musical Cupcakes (Basic Oven) and Gravlax. So this is a strong recipe.

I'm gem-rich again, so am seriously thinking about the Cider Bar along with some of the other content for a new Autumn section. I had one last year, but it was kind of a mix of Autumn and Thanksgiving in the end.

Update: I have now added a new Autumn section...

New Autumn section in The Garlic Tree

There's a mixture of stuff on show - the Cider Bar is the centerpiece, with the Autumn Cookies the other item from this year's Autumn content I've included. The Garden Tables and Garden Chairs from the garden section (which itself was only added last week but I wasn't wholly satisfied about so have replaced with this) are also in there, along with the Outdoor wallpaper and Autumn Leaves flooring. Eagle-eyed readers may spot that the Steampunk Counters which looked very out of place in my garden section remain in this new Autumn section. There's now more than 40,000 helpings of Panpipe Asparagus! I ain't parting with that!

Back to the update, and it's good that Autumn is getting a proper treatment this year. Last year it was November before it was included, and was largely lost amid Halloween and Thanksgiving excitement. There may not have been any goals so far, but that's not a problem as the Old West goals are still active. The only other thing missing is a new box. But interestingly the Autumn Gift Box from 2012 is still available, so it will be interesting to see if TeamLava will conclude the theme next week with a new box...
