Recipe list added

Whenever new recipes are released, I tend to go off on a tangent with a long analysis of each dish's statistics and compare them with other recipes of the same length.

Well now you can too!

I've added a new feature to the blog - a recipe list which includes every Restaurant Story dish past and present complete with an abundance of related data including the key three of profit, portions and XP. It is this table which I have used over the last few months to give a summary of the quality of each new recipe.

Part of Recipe List from Restaurant Story Adventures Blog

You can access this rather large spreadsheet by clicking the 'Recipe List' tab at the top of the page, or by clicking here.

You will have noticed that whenever I discuss the merits of a recipe I compare it to other dishes of the same duration, so you may wish to look at only recipes of a certain length. This can be done by selecting the required duration from the drop-down list of the relevant column in the table. Likewise you can do the same for any other criteria, or for multiple criteria at the same time if you so wish.

And by clicking on the column headings, you can sort the table's rows into whichever order you like - perhaps you want the recipes listed alphabetically or with highest profit first. Whatever you want it should be possible, and you can even combine filters with sorting. So if you want to look at 4 hour recipes with an XP gain of at least 75, then you can, by filtering for 4 hour recipes only, and then sorting the table in order of decreasing XP.

As well as the main trio of recipe stats, there's a few other numbers as well, including the ratio of these three elements per hour (not shown in above image). This makes comparisons between dishes of differing durations more valid, but be wary as you need to sleep at some point and probably can't tap all day long, so won't be able to reap 1,000 coins per hour of French Toast for every appliance!

You'll also spot that some recipes in the list are highlighted in a certain colour. Here is what each colour represents:

  • Blue - this recipe was added in 2013 and is therefore 'at risk' of removal in early 2014 when TeamLava do their holiday content removal. Note that not all recipes in blue will be removed as some are permanent additions, but it's impossible to be certain of what is safe and what isn't. For more on that, see here.
  • Green - this recipe is unlockable through a current set of goals. The goal set in question will expire at some point in the near future, so to have access to this recipe you need to unlock it soon.
  • Orange - this recipe is no longer available to new players. This is because it was unlockable through a past set of goals which themselves have expired. So if you have got the recipe, you shouldn't ever have it removed, but if you haven't, then unfortunately you never will.
  • Red - this recipe has been removed from the game. It can no longer be cooked on the regular edition, but there is always a chance that it could make a return at some point in the future.

That's all for now. I'll be referring to this table in future recipe reports, but do plan to continue my analysis of recipes when released as previously.
