Notification for Thanksgiving update |
November comes with a Thanksgiving theme and a new set of goals.
So lots to discuss - firstly, here's all of the new content added to the game this week:

- Mushroom Stool - 1 gem
- Fall Forest Chair - 3,950 coins
- Autumn Lamp - 6,700 coins
- Rainforest Vines - 28,000 coins
- Tropical Elephants - 39 gems (LTO)
- Parade Car - locked by goal
- Turkey Parade Float - locked by goal
- Leaf Pile - locked by goal
- Jungle - 1 gem
- Autumn Afternoon - 2,750 coins
- Fall Leaves Tile - 700 coins
- Thanksgiving Barbeque - locked by goal
- Autumn Oven - locked by goal
- Tree Counter - 44,000 coins
- Harvest Counter - locked by goal
There are also two new recipes on the basic appliances. These will be analysed along with the dishes on the two new appliances in a separate post in the near future.
So unsurprisingly considering the Halloween goals expired on Monday, we've got a new set to work on, with the theme being Thanksgiving.
Introduction to Thanksgiving 2013 goals |
All the details you need for the goals can be found here.
Let's look at the new items. I love the Mushroom Table and Mushroom Chair. They could really aid you in creating a wild outdoor area. It's just a shame that both are for gems, much like the existing Toadstool Table and Chair. At least the Fall Forest Table and Fall Forest Chair are coin content, and to be honest they are also beauties if you're into the windswept outdoor look. The table in particular is a lovely piece. These items would go wonderfully with prizes from the Woodland Box.
The Rainforest Vines are bizarre in that they're from the wrong climate altogether. Although as I'm from the UK and don't observe Thanksgiving, I could be missing something here! The Tropical Elephants is in the same vein, and is a limited time offer.
Tropical Elephants limited time offer |
The chance to purchase this 3x3 item is around for five days only (from Wednesday) so if you fancy it then get going! The 39 gem price tag is among the higher LTO prices, but having previewed it I'd say you are getting a really cool decoration.
It's a shame that the LTO is the only floor decoration freely available to buy, but the three goal prizes in this category all look substantial so that makes up for it.
And finally I want to comment on the Fall Leaves Tile. There are quite a few floor tiles of this style from the Autumn updates around a month ago, but this one is by far the cheapest. That's because you need to purchase some of them for the goals, so a word of warning - do not deck out all of your diner with this floor tile before reaching Step 2 of the goals. Otherwise you won't be able to get any further without doing an expansion or skipping for gems.
Meanwhile the Halloween 2012 stuff which was labelled as 'limited time' upon re-release last week is still around. I've got no idea how long it will be staying for, but if you're thinking about investing in any of it I advise doing so very soon.
One last remark - Stormie's Store had a revamp earlier this week... for Halloween.
Stormie's Store with a Halloween theme |
This is superb because I commented that I'd like to see Stormie get refurbished more regularly in my Suggestions Box post last month, so TeamLava are obviously listening! But it's also a bit ridiculous that Stormie is going for a Halloween theme after the occasion has past. Never mind.
No, as a Yank, I can say with some authority that the elephant/jungle stuff is out of left field. No idea on that one...
