Notification for latest Valentine's Day update |
The Love Chest is a 24 gem investment, with one of nine possible prizes being awarded. As ever you've got a very slim chance of bagging a first or second prize, so should make sure you're satisfied with most of the third and fourth prizes before gambling your precious gems. After all, it's the lower prizes you're more likely to end up with!
Here's the distribution of the prizes for the box:
First Prize (1% chance)
- Garden Dinner
- String Quartet
- Tunnel of Love
- Romantic Swing
- Two to Tango
- Lava Girl Love
- Candy Bowl
- Puppy Love
- Cup of Love
Interestingly the String Quartet is the second box item with this name - there is a String Quartet in the Music Box. For some images of the items head on over to the TeamLava Forum.
There aren't any new recipes this week, so the box is really all there is to get worked up about. But with the 2012 and 2013 Valentine's content still in the game at least there's a wide range of decor in the market for bigging up the romance in our diners. This actually includes the Valentine Chest from last year which remains an option. So lots of decisions to make!
However I'm disappointed at the lack of anything other than the box. It's by no means a first for a box update, but it's a struggle to see the logic the game's developers are applying regarding this. Just look at last week's update: the goals were surely enough to keep everyone busy, so why did TeamLava also release two recipes for the Basic appliances? They could quite easily have held those back for this week, and we'd all be cockahoop. Instead there's a feeling that we've been screwed over with this update.
Valentine's Day 2014
22/01/14 Cupid update
Perhaps the explanation is quite simple. By releasing the box on it's own, those who are looking to spend gems on something new have only one option. And if all doesn't go well with their dips in the box then they might be inclined to purchase more gems. At the end of the day it all comes down to money...
So I'll be keeping my current Valentine's set-up, although may add an expensive floor decoration from previous years to complete the scene, having eventually decided to pass on the limited time offer from last week.
One final point - this post comes a year to the day since my very first update post. Seems like a lifetime ago now!
